Volunteer
We are actively looking for volunteers for the new Barking Fixing Factory. Find out more and sign up on our volunteering page.
The Barking Fixing Factory is a collaboration with Sew London and the Fixing Factory, and is being funded by the East London Waste Authority.
East London Waste Authority (ELWA) is the Waste Disposal Authority responsible for the disposal of waste from the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge.
ELWA is supporting the Barking Fixing Factory through their Waste Prevention Programme. The programme’s aims and objectives are to support residents in the partnering boroughs to reduce waste, reuse more items, and to recycle more. A key objective within the programme is to improve access to repair opportunties. The ELWA team welcome the opportunity to support the Barking Fixing Factory initiative which provides an accessible opportunity for regular repair and offers residents regular opportunities to learn practical repair skills. Further details about the Waste Prevention Programme campaigns can be found here (www.eastlondonwaste.gov.uk/campaigns)
