Bring Fixing Factory workshops to your community
The Fixing Factory is building a movement to make repair the norm - and we want to share our approach with groups across the UK. That’s why we’ve developed a set of workshop and training materials that other community organisations can license and deliver locally.
What We Offer
We’ve created ready-to-use workshop packages , complete with slides, lesson plans, and trainer support, to help you run engaging, hands-on repair activities. These materials are designed for beginners and volunteers, and focus on practical skills that give people the confidence to repair.
Lamp Lab
Electrical safety and lamp rewiring basic. Perfect for those ready to spark their repair journey.
Toaster Teardown
Key electrical repair and maintenance skills, taught by taking apart and reassembling a toaster.
Change a Plug Like a Pro
Plug repairs made easy! Build confidence in safely changing plugs and tackling simple fixes.
Solder On
Take DIY skills to the next level with soldering: from splicing wires to tackling small electronics projects.
Future Fixers Course
A six-week course covering electrical safety, PAT testing, and repairing a wide range of household items.
How It Works
Inside London
As the Fixing Factory operates in London, if you’re also based in London you won’t be able to purchase the workshop(s) as this forms a vital part of our income generation. The Fixing Factory can deliver the Fixperience workshops for you at cost. Please get in touch to find out more. You can still purchase the Future Fixers course materials.
Outside London
You can purchase our licensed workshop materials and use them to run your own workshop(s) in your community.
Trainer Support
Every purchase includes short train-the-trainer sessions to walk you through the materials and answer questions.
Equipment
You’ll need to source the tools - we’ll provide a recommended kit list.
Why We Charge
Running Fixing Factories requires staff, space, tools and materials. While we’re partly supported by the National Lottery Community Fund until 2027, we need to generate sustainable income so that Fixing Factories can thrive in the long term. We’re charity-run, and every penny raised from these materials goes directly back into keeping Fixing Factories running and helping repair spread to high streets across the UK.
