5 Weeks of Fixing at Templar House

This October was filled with fixing and giving. Fixing Factory’s workshop manager Petra Backovska and expert fixer Carl organised 5 week long event for brand new fixers - Alessandra, Giuseppe, Dylan, Martha, Kerstin, Sorcha and John.

First week commenced with health and safety induction and our infamous Toaster Teardown.

From week 2 we were fixing broken items from local residents and Regis Road Re-Use and Recycling Center.

These five weeks were filled with learning new skills and getting to know different tools and concepts one needs to successfully refurbish electricals.

Week 5 brought Councillor Adam Harrison, Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden and NLWA Member; Councillor Richard Olszewski, Cabinet Member for Finance and Cost of Living and NLWA Member; Councillor Lorna Greenwood and Councillor Nancy Jirira, Naomi May from North London Waste Authority - sponsor who made this happen, Dermot Jones - Fixing Factory Project Leader - a co-founder of Fixing Factory.

All repaired items were donated to Granville Community Kitchen in South Kilburn and were picked up by Leslie.
